On Thursday, KS1 children enjoyed a jam packed afternoon of dancing with Sophie from the Easington School Sports Partnership. The children were given opportunities to take part in a wide range of dance styles along with using a variety of dance props. Glow sticks and disco lights added to the party atmosphere.

Well Done! A huge well done to our Cross Country teams yesterday! They ran like the wind and we are so proud of them all – especially when running up the hill! In our History topic, we have been learning about toys from the past. We brought our favourite toy in from home and talked about it. We have also looked at toys from the past and looked closely at the toy’s material to decide whether we think it is a modern or an old toy.

Year 1 had a lovely end to the school year. We said our goodbyes to Benjamin and wished him the very best of luck in his new school. I hope all the children and adults have a fantastic summer!

House Point Winners – George House Group! Well done to George House Group who earned the most points overall for their amazing behaviour around school this half term. As it was such a hot day on Tuesday, we decided to have some fun in the shade and cool down!  

This half term, Reception and Year 1 enjoyed a gymnastics after school club. The learnt many skills including; forward rolls, teddy bear rolls, cartwheels, jumps and balances. They all had a fantastic time and will use their new skills to develop their Key Steps routines.

Year 1 sent a letter to Handa, asking her for some fruit. She sent us bananas, oranges and apples and we made a smoothie with these. We loved tasting the smoothie and eating some of the left over fruit.

We visited the park on Thursday, as an end of year celebration. The children had lots of fun with their friends.

Today Year 1 visited the allotment to look at the different parts of plants. We talked about the things that plants need to grow. We looked at the different plants that we could see and watered them. We have talked about wild plants and garden plants and made our own wild flower bracelet. We then had a very special visitor …

This morning we all went to church to crown Mary. We have been learning that May is the month of Mary. Our First Holy Communion children have been leading the rosary at parish mass each Saturday afternoon and today they led us in a decade of the Rosary before we crowned Mary.
