Locomotion Year 1

We had such a fabulous day at the Locomotion museum. We learnt all about George Stephenson’s life and his inventions. We saw his Locomotion and acted out the first steam train journey from Shildon to Stockton. We also looked inside a train engine.

St Cuthbert’s Day Year 1

We had a lovely day on Wednesday celebrating St Cuthbert’s Day. We went to church and found out some interesting facts about St Cuthbert. On the afternoon, we enjoyed eating ice cream with our friends.

We had lots of fun in Year 1 on Friday. We came to school dressed in bright colours to raise money for comic relief. Christmas Activities in Year 1

We had a great last week at school. We played games and danced at our Christmas party, had a lovely Christmas dinner, met Santa, watched a show and watched a movie in our pyjamas, with a hot chocolate. We hope you all have a lovely Christmas Year 1.

Year 1 Santa Dash

We had lots of fun today. We threw snowballs, zig-zagged in and out of Santa hats, used a selfie frame and matched pairs. The best part was being sprayed by the snow machine.

Year 1 History Trip

We have had a great afternoon visiting Church Street and eating ice cream. We had a sketch map of Church Street and mapped out the things that we could see. We will then be comparing this to the 1950s high street.

Year 1 Gymnastics

We are having lots of fun in gymnastics this half term. We have been learning how to do forward rolls, teddy bear rolls, back support and balances. We are remembering to keep our toes pointed and to hold our positions. Well done Year 1 you have been trying really hard.
