D&T Lead Teacher in school is Mrs Lambert

Our Design and Technology curriculum gives our pupils the chance to be creative, think logically and work collaboratively. We use the Durham model of progression and the Design & Technology Association materials to ensure that pupils build on skills and have strong links with St Bede’s who allow us to access their science, DT and cookery facilities and expertise.

All pupils work with food technology each year which helps build their skills with equipment and their knowledge of how different food types are created. We run a popular cookery club each year – this year this will take place in summer term.

In EYFS pupils are given access to construction materials both indoors and outdoors through structured teaching and continuous provision. Structures, electronics, mechanical systems and textiles are taught in KS1 then revisited twice through KS2 to ensure skills are built on.

From September 2020 our curriculum will be under review. You can find our current curriculum map below.
