Year 2- Equal Groups

We have began our new Maths topic of multiplication and division. We began with a practical lesson of recapping equal groups. We had a lovely time using lots of manipulatives to practise.

Y2 Sculptures

As part of our Art topic, we have been looking at sculptures by Henry Moore. Henry Moore made sculptures of humans. We had a lovely afternoon making sculptures with our bodies and then positioning our pipe cleaner human into the same pose. Y2 ICT – Algorithms

Today, we created an algorithm (a precise set of instructions or rules to achieve an outcome or solve a problem) to instruct a pretend robot (Mrs Kharko) to make a jam sandwich. Some of us had some very funny looking jam sandwiches. We then discussed what happens if the instructions aren’t precise enough.

Year 2 Christmas Party and Lunch

Y2 Design Technology

This term, Y2 have been designing and making ferris wheels. They used cardboard to make the frame and the wheel and egg boxes to make the pods. Mini Vinnie’s Advent Appeal

As you may have seen recently, many refugees have been uprooted and relocated from Afghanistan to the North East of England. The SVP society at St Cuthbert’s House are collecting donations for these families.
