Year 2 have been working with money this week in maths. We have enjoyed using the coins to make different amounts and to count amounts. In our PSHE lessons, we have been learning about why we have money, where money comes from and what we spend money on.

One of our class books this half term is ‘The Tunnel’ by Anthony Browne. We enjoyed sharing  a selection of books written by the author Anthony Browne. He has written so many stories!

We had a fabulous time at our Christmas Party with our friends from Reception and Year 1. We played lots of games and there was lots of dancing!

We had a special visitor today! Santa said we are all on his good list, even Mrs Wilkinson and Mrs Dickinson!

We had a lovely time this afternoon keeping active with our fabulous Easington School Sports Partnership and some amazing sports leaders from Seaham High School. It was full of  laughter and lots of snow!  

It was wonderful to see so many young scientists take part in this half terms science club. We ended our club recapping our learning, talking about our favourite parts and giving feedback for what they would like to learn next time. In science club this week we were exploring circuits. We learnt about what batteries are and what they do before using our battery and wires to try and make the bulb light up. On Thursday, KS1 children enjoyed a jam packed afternoon of dancing with Sophie from the Easington School Sports Partnership. The children were given opportunities to take part in a wide range of dance styles along with using a variety of dance props. Glow sticks and disco lights added to the party atmosphere.

As a school on Tuesday 18th,  we took part in the “million children pray the rosary” campaign for peace and unity in the world. We took part in the NSPCC’s Pants lesson today where we learnt about the NSPCC’s underwear rule. Well Done! A huge well done to our Cross Country teams yesterday! They ran like the wind and we are so proud of them all – especially when running up the hill!
