Year 3 have enjoyed learning different techniques using watercolours this week. Investigating Fossils

Year 3 are coming to the end of their science topic ‘Rocks and Fossils.’ In Thursday’s lesson, we looked carefully at various fossils and discussed what we thought we could find out about them from our observations. We discussed how palaeontologists used fossils to help them find out about living things from millions of years ago.

On Tuesday, Year 3 went on an educational visit to the Synagogue and the Laing Art Gallery. Purple Mash Touch Type

This half term, Year 3 are learning how to type with speed and efficiency. They will be learning correct typing terminology and will practise improving their typing skills. We will link this to our Stone Age topic where children will write short stories or information texts about the Stone Age.

Anti Bullying Competition

We launched a competition during Anti Bullying Week.  The children had to design a poster to be displayed around school.  The poster had to include the slogan ‘Change Starts With Us’, what to do if they see or experience bullying and an anti bullying message.  The competition was judged by Mrs McGann who is our Anti Bullying Governor. We had a fun start to our new science topic Rocks and Fossils. We had to study rock samples, getting to know the texture, colour and appearance of each sample we observed. Well done Roman!

A huge well done to Roman in Year 3, who came 1st in a dancing competition. Roman came 1st in singles dance, pairs dance and group dance when he went to a dance competition at Butlins during the half term holidays. He has obviously worked very hard.
