Jubilee Ready! We have been getting ourselves ready for our Jubilee celebrations after half term with some art to make our new entrance feel patriotic and party-ready! Thank you to all our classes for your beautiful portraits and drawings.

Our year 6 children had a special visit from their buddies last week during their SATs and they gave them a good luck card and Mrs Groark gave a lovely speech about how she has watched Y6 grow over the years.

This Lent we are giving to CAFOD’s Walk against Hunger campaign. Too many children around the world go without food and nourishment. CAFOD are aiming to get schools to walk 40,000 km (collectively) which is the distance around the world. KS2 enjoyed their assembly delivered by Adam Bushnell on Monday. He retold a Brother’s Grimm story of the Evil Unicorn. Everyone who acted out the story took their role very seriously and were excellent. It was great fun to watch!  

We enjoyed a special assembly delivered by Mr Conway when he visited school on Thursday. He shared a great story about Mother Teresa. Some top tips about managing screen time for your children

On Wednesday we had a visit from Seaham’s Deputy Mayor Sue Morrison. The children asked lots of questions (from what inspired you to become a Mayor? to what is your favourite football club?). The children all now have a better understanding of the Mayor’s role in Seaham.

Year 6 enjoyed taking part in Christmas Jumper Day and having their picture taken with their buddies around our beautiful tree.
