On Thursday, children from years 4 and 6 headed off to East Durham College to participate in a basketball skills session and a competition. Flat Stan First Aid

Last week year 6 enjoyed their session learning some First Aid. They learnt about hazards in the home, common issues like bruises and nose bleeds as well as learning how to give CPR and what to do in the event of choking using Flat Stan. A visit from the neighbourhood policing team

Year 5 and 6 had a visit from the local neighbourhood policing team yesterday. They discussed issues around “stranger danger,” who to trust and what to do if they find themselves in that situation. They were also taught more about staying safe online following our E-safety day before half term. We look forward to working alongside them in the future.

Y6 investigating colour

After learning about Sir Isaac Newton’s theory on colour and how we see colours, year 6 enjoyed exploring this further with some child-led investigations using coloured filters. They were amazed to see how the colour filters could be used to block out colours to reveal secret messages.

Feliz Navidad

Year 6 enjoyed a christmas themed spanish lesson this week. They learnt some new vocabulary, read a story about a little tree who was helped by Santa before creating their own christmas cards for their families and writing inside in spanish whilst singing along to “feliz navidad.”

Year 3/4 Gymnastic Club

Over the last 6 weeks, gymnastics club have worked unbelievably hard covering a wide variety of skills. They have worked on individual skills, pairs balances and finally produced a whole group routine. Each child has progressed week on week and have been a credit to the club. Well done!
