Wednesday 20th May

WOW ME Wednesday is back!

First of all, I would like you to complete the following tasks:

For Maths I would like you to complete the BBC Bitesize tasks about dividing decimals by integers (or whole numbers as we know them by). https://www.bbc.co.uk/bitesize/tags/zncsscw/year-6-and-p7-lessons/1

Then for English I would like you to complete reading plus – remember to be completing the vocabulary tasks and visual skills as well as the reading comprehensions.  Then I would like you to write a thank you letter for a healthcare hero! Use the guidance on the BBC Bitesize English task to help you plan it. Then write it or type it up. https://www.bbc.co.uk/bitesize/tags/zncsscw/year-6-and-p7-lessons/1

For your RE task today I’d like you to reflect on how illness and suffering are not easy to cope with. When a person is very sick, they are not able to do what they normally do. Often it is an occasion when people have time to reflect on what is important to them in life. It is often a time when people think about God and pray more.

The anointing with oil is a symbol of healing and is used in the Sacrament of Anointing of the Sick. Read about the Sacrament to help you get a better understanding. The Sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick is a sacrament for anyone who is seriously ill.  It is a sacrament that is commonly given a number of times during an illness, sometimes because the person becomes more ill, or because the sick person would benefit from the strength and comfort the Sacrament gives them.

Create your own prayer for those dealing with illness and the people around them helping to give them strength and comfort.

Finally, to WOW ME on the school website I have updated this week’s science task, it is exploring forces. If you don’t have the resources at home to complete it, you could design your own forces experiment using something you have around the house (make sure you are safe and have your parents consent).
