Wednesday 17th June

Wednesday 17th June

Good morning Year 3. We are half way through the week. Let me know how you are getting on.

Maths

Log on to White Rose home learning Year 3. Today your lesson is subtracting fractions with the same denominator. Watch the video then complete the attached worksheet.

If you are working from Year 2, your lesson today is sorting 2D and 3D shapes. Watch the video then complete the attached worksheet.

If you find any of these tricky you can always try Year 1. Just do what you feel you can manage.

Spend a few minutes on Times Table Rockstars.

English

Today’s lesson is Nonsense poetry.

Watch the clips first. I think you will find them funny, especially ‘On the Ning Nang Nong’ by Spike Milligan. Complete Activity 1 then try activity 2 and 3. I wonder what nonsense poems you can come up with. I have attached the imaginary words sheet to help with your poem. Good luck! Don’t forget to send them in. We might have a little competition for the best nonsense poem.

Art

How did you get on with your art yesterday? If you didn’t get it finished, spend some time today finishing off.

We will be continuing with art this week, in particular looking at patterns. Patterns are all around us: at home, at school and in nature. You may have seen a pattern in the flowers you were drawing yesterday.

Go through the slides I have attached showing examples of art using patterns. Look carefully at the patterns, colours and shapes that have been used.

On your art sheet, I would like you to choose three patterns. You can either find patterns at home or outside or use the patterns on the slides. Look to see how they are similar or different. Which patterns do you like best? Why?

As always, make sure you do some active time.
