Thursday 21.5.20

Hello,
Do you know what feast day it is today?
Well it’s Ascension Thursday. Your task is to find out what this is and post a few sentences / facts on the Google Classroom Stream.

Maths
How did you get on yesterday with division? There’s more today with a link to BBC Bitesize but I’ve also added the link to the White Rose Home Leaning Videos as this may help you.

The division pdf will be useful to get you started and practise your skills.

Bitesize lesson – Learn how to divide a 4-digit number by a 1-digit number.

Bitesize includes:

one video
one slideshow
two activities

Activity 1
The Greatest Remainder can be played with two or three numbers at first then with the four suggested.
Activity 2
Dice Divisions. Try this but if you’re struggling to divide by all the numbers on the dice don’t worry just try to adapt the game.

English / RE Week 2 / Lesson 2
Reading, thinking and understanding / Reading Q and discussing answers /Writing a postcard
Refer to Week 2 on the parents page below

Week 2: In the Old Testament we hear stories of how God called those he had chosen to do his work. Read the ‘Call of Samuel’ and the ‘Call of David’ (see below). God does not choose people for the same reasons as we might. God looks at the heart and not at the outer appearance. DISCUSS THE ANSWERS TO THE Q RATHER THAN WRITE THEM
In the New Testament Jesus chose twelve men to be his Apostles to tell everyone the Good News of God’s love. Read ‘Come Follow Me’ (see below).
DISCUSS THE ANSWERS TO THE Q RATHER THAN WRITE THEM
Choose to be one of the apostles and write a postcard (see below) to your family explaining what you are doing and why you are doing it.
MAYBE MAKE YOUR OWN POSTCARD RATHER THAN PRINT THE ONE BELOW.

How about doing some Science today!
A Y4 topic is to learn about Digestion so follow the links below to start learning.
There’re 5 learner guides and a practical activity if you can stomach it!!
Also a labelling sheet. Remember to only print out the parts you need.

Ongoing

Keep watching the Bitesize Daily TV lessons as they contains extra opportunities for learning – lesson about food chains, analogue and digital time, similes and metaphors! All good stuff! ? I’m also liking the new story – You’re a Bad Man, Mr Gum!
