Monday 8th June

Hello everyone, I hope that you have all had a lovely weekend. Thank you to all of you for working so hard last week. You are all doing absolutely amazing and I continue to be so very proud of you all. You are all little superstars!

Today in maths on White Rose it should be fractions. However, we have already completed this unit at the beginning of lockdown so we will be using the alternative lesson which today is ‘Finding the total’. I have added the link and task sheet to google classroom. I have also added another task which you might like to try. These are differentiated so if you find the Whiterose things tricky then have a try at theses. There are 4 different sheets in task 2 so look carefully for your maths colour table at the top of the sheet and off you go.

In English today I would like you to write a recount of “Your Favourite Day in Lockdown!’ I know that some of us will be finding this a very tricky time but try to think of a nice positive day that you have had. It may have been a walk to a place you had not walked to before, or having extra family night, movie day or a games night. Remember to think carefully about your punctuation, try to extend your sentences with conjunctions and think about using different sentence openers.

We have looked at the Arctic in Geography and science recently so I thought today that you might like to complete a little art lesson using the Arctic as a focus. I have added a powerpoint to the google classroom with some art work from the Polar artist Linda Lang. All of the instructions are in the powerpoint. I can’t wait to see your finished art pieces! Perhaps we could have our own Year 2 Polar art gallery on the school website!

Also this week, Mrs Parlett and Mr Boyle have set us a sports week challenge. There will be a daily challenge and you will be able to score points for your house group team! I ahve added the link  with all of the details. https://www.stcuthbertsprimary.com/sports-week-2020/

Have a fabulous day.

Mrs Wilkinson
