This week in Year 5 we have been learning how to debate, even when we don’t fully agree with a viewpoint. So far, we have discussed whether teenagers should be sent to prison linking to our new class text ‘Holes’, we have debated whether Sundays should be kept as a day of rest linking to our Freedom & Responsibility topic in RE and we are going to debate whether single use plastics should be banned in law. Some of us are getting much more confident and very vocal! It has been wonderful to see how well Y5 listen to one another and how quickly they can now come up with counter arguments!
