Miss Armes and I would like to say a huge well done to the dance club children from years 3,4,5 & 6 for their outstanding performances at the Dance Festival today. You all put you heart and soul into it and made us very proud indeed!  Please see below for our performance in front of parents after school today.

For our DT project this term, we have been exploring and designing a mood / sensory light in pairs and have been writing code to program our crumble boards and lights. Thank you to all parents who came in to help us with our projects today.

We celebrated world book day.  We had lots of fun and came to school dressed as our favourite book character.  We also brought and shared our favourite books.  More photos coming soon.

Some of the children from year 2 enjoyed a morning at East Durham College where they took park in a Hoopstarz festival. The children had a fantastic morning and learnt many different techniques using a hoola hoop. All of the children were very well behaved and were a credit to our school.

This week Francesca came in to teach us about gymnastics. We learnt the names of the different shapes we can make with our body eg, tuck, star, pike. We learnt how to walk and sit like a gymnast.

Year 1 visited Beamish to listen to traditional tales however when we got there all of the tales from the book had disappeared. Our mission was to look around Pockerly Manor to find clues.  We found lots of clues and together made our own traditional tales storybook.

This week is Chinese New Year. We have celebrated by making a vegetable stir fry, writing stories about The Great Race, trying to write chinese numbers and making new year cards and decorations. This year it is the year of the Monkey.
