Monday 23rd March

Good morning Year 1, I hope you had a lovely weekend and are all feeling refreshed.

Maths

This week we will continue to focus on counting in 2’s, 5’s and 10’s. Today I would like you to practise counting in 2’s.

For your challenge you can use your socks to help you. By counting in 2’s tell me how many socks there are in:

6 pairs?

9 pairs?

12 pairs?

Can you write a number sentence to match with the pairs above?

e.g.  3 pairs = 3 x 2

Give this a try and let me know how you get on. And remember to tidy up your socks when you’ve finished!

English

Today I would like you to practise your phonics and go on a phonics hunt around your house. Can you find any objects in your house which have any split digraphs in? e.g. gate, knife, robe, phone. Have a look on the school website and play Picnic on Pluto on phonics play and try and identify the nonsense words.

Topic

Finally Year 1 I would like you to draw a picture of your house and tell me what kind of house it is you live in. Do you live in a flat, terraced house or a semi-detached or detached house?

Remember to have some active time today too. Why not try having a good stretch to this:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tbCjkPlsaes
