Year 5 learned all about the Jewish festival of Passover and the symbolism of the Seder meal. We tried some charoset, karpas and matzo and learned how the different textures and tastes represent the bitterness, tears and the cement used by slaves to build the pyramids.

Today, Year 5 visited Jarrow Hall to find out all about Anglo Saxon life. This term, in History, we are looking at the Anglo Saxons and Vikings and discovering where they came from and what life was like in this time period. Year 5 Colour Run We have had a bit of a drizzly and very colourful afternoon with the Sports Partnership doing our sponsored colour run this afternoon.

Year 5 are exploring life cycles this term. We’re starting by looking at the life cycles of plants. Our allotment is full of plants with fruit and seeds after a warm summer. Some slugs are enjoying the cabbages as well, as you can probably tell from some of the facial expressions!
