Today, our Year 5 students had a festive and creative time with an outdoor Christmas Craft Workshop! With the crisp winter air and the holiday spirit in full swing, the students took part in a range of exciting outdoor activities that blended nature, craft, and Christmas cheer.
The workshop began with the children getting hands-on with natural photos. Using materials they found in the outdoor area—like leaves, twigs, and pinecones—students created beautiful and unique pictures on our field. It was a wonderful way for them to connect with nature while also expressing their creativity. The children enjoyed the challenge of thinking outside the box and using only natural materials to create their artwork.
Next up were the mud reindeers, which quickly became a highlight of the day! Armed with mud, sticks, and buttons, the children worked to create their very own muddy Rudolph. It was a fun, messy, and imaginative way to celebrate the Christmas season while embracing the great outdoors.
After all that hard work, it was time to relax and enjoy some traditional Christmas treats. The students gathered around to toast marshmallows over a crackling outdoor fire. The excitement and laughter were contagious as everyone carefully roasted their marshmallows to perfection before enjoying them.
The afternoon ended with the students sipping on delicious hot chocolate, warming up with sweet treats as they reflected on all the fun activities they had enjoyed. It was the perfect way to wrap up a day of crafting, creativity, and festive fun.
