Year 5 and Year 6 visited Seaham Park Cenotaph today to take part in a liturgy before observing a 2 minutes silence, remembering the significance of today. We are so proud of the children in Y6 who received their first Holy Communion on Saturday surrounded by friends, staff and family. They celebrated receiving their sacrament in school on Monday with their friends. Our children receiving their first Holy Communion. In Tuesday’s club, we explored LINE. How can we create different lines? Thin or thick? Straight or wavy or spiky? Solid or dotted or dashed?  We enjoyed creating these autumnal zentangles with sharpies then filling them with watercolour to make them look more 3D.

Our Little Library Club was lots of fun after school today. We shared a great story, Room On The Broom, and completed some design and colouring activities. We have been outside this week looking at the different colours we can see. We found lots of different coloured leaves. We collected them into different colored groups. Back in class we made some leaf pictures after reading the story , “Leaf Man ” by Louis Ehlert.

In our first art club session we have made our own firework pictures.

In Year 1, we have been reading The Gingerbread Man. Yesterday the children were shown footage of the Gingerbread Man in our classroom with his friends. We really want to find him, so we are making our very own missing posters.

Take a look at the shoebox trenches year 6 made over half term.

Our local community garden donated some pumpkins Bouncy Castle to us and we had great fun designing and making a lanterns with them. We tried to pull a face just like the lanterns we had created.

Today some of our children attended the Hi-5 netball festival. There were seven schools in total and the girls showed excellent communication and team-work on their way to a third place finish overall. Well done girls!

The Year 1 children had a visit from the firefighters on Tuesday to learn about fire safety. The children had a look around their fire engine and all had a turn at using their hose.

Both of our teams were playing in a league fixture tonight against Ryhope Juniors. The A-Team took an early lead but Ryhope quickly levelled the score and scored another to make the score 2-1 to them. In the second half, we didn’t give up and kept at them.
