We had a lovely time today practising our phonics by playing lots of games. It was fun making our own nonsense words!

Year 5 have begun to learn a Bollywood style dance. This week we created group tableaus thinking about hand gestures and symmetry. We added them on to our whole class sequence.

We thought about the things we would find in an Anglo Saxon village and worked in teams to make strong structures using triangle supports and slots to secure the card. A lovely (if slightly messy) afternoon! Great to see our home learners who are isolating also joining in.  

This week is anti-bullying week. A week used to raise awareness of bullying. When we are bullied, we are denied of our rights. Article 2 which is about discrimination and how we have this right regardless of our age, gender, religion, language, abilities, family background but often bullies recognise our differences and use this to be unkind to us. We’re developing our sequences in the gymnastics lesson. Balances are definitely improving!

Reception Class were amazing this week and impressed us all with their hooping skills. They had a fantastic session with Tracey from Hoopstarz. We were so proud of the children especially since some children had never used a hoop before. Well done Reception Class.

Year 6 together as a class have finally reached over 1 million words in 9 weeks with a total of 369 combos! This is a fantastic effort! Check out our recent leaderboard: Since coming back after half term Year 6 have read 156683 words in total and collected 42 combos! Keep it up 🙂

Year 6 showed a great knowledge and understanding of fire safety and now understand the risks of fire and how to check their house is safe.
