We have had a really fun week in Year 1. We had our Christmas party, where we danced and played lots of games. We have also had a special visit from Santa. We sang songs with him and told him one thing we would like for Christmas. He said that we were all on the nice list.

We had a fabulous time at our Christmas Party with our friends from Reception and Year 1. We played lots of games and there was lots of dancing!

We had a special visitor today! Santa said we are all on his good list, even Mrs Wilkinson and Mrs Dickinson!

Just a reminder that our Carol Service is tomorrow at 10 o’clock in church. Our new Friends of St Cuthbert’s group would love to see you for a cuppa and a mince pie afterwards.

Congratulations to our Stars Of The Week. We love to celebrate the hard work and achievement of the children. Our Readers Of The Week also received certificates for progress and enthusiasm in reading. Well done to everyone.

On Monday 12th December, the Monday following Gaudete Sunday (also known as Bambinelli Sunday) Father Marc came into school to bless our Bambinellis. Year 5 – Clay Dragon Eyes Year 5 enjoyed getting their hands messy yesterday and thinking about the patterns and textures they have observed in their work on eyes this term in art. We used clay to sculpt a tile in the style of a dragon eye using moulding and sticking with scratch and slip as well as using tools …

Year 5 & 6 Christmas Lunch Year 5 & 6 also enjoyed an amazing Christmas Lunch on Wednesday.  Year 6 were sad to realise it was their last Christmas Dinner made by Jan!

A big thank you to Jan, Maureen and Claire, our kitchen staff, for a fabulous Christmas Lunch. We all enjoyed it!

We were all so proud of our Reception Class today. Despite all of the many illnesses they managed to all be in school today to perform their Nativity play for their grown ups in church. They spoke with confidence and sang and danced with lots of enthusiasm. Well done Reception Class.

Thank you to Jan, Clare and Maureen who made and served us a very tasty dinner today. It was a special dinner because it was our very first Christmas dinner in school.  

We have had a lovely 2 days in Year 1. We had a great time with Candy Cane and his elves from Easington School Sports Partnership and today we really enjoyed having our Christmas dinner.
