We’ve had a great start to gardening club with Peter and some of our seeds are already growing. We have enjoyed planting potatoes, French beans, leeks, basil, lettuce and spring onions. We even planted sunflowers to take home. This week we have also began filling our own compost bin.

This afternoon, Year 5 have been doing a scientific experiment to find out which materials made good thermal insulators. We tried three different materials and checked the temperature of the water after 3, 6 and 9 minutes. We really enjoyed learning how to read the thermometers and predicting which material would keep the water the warmest.
