Last week, some of our Y6 children took part in an athletics competition. Although it was very hot, the children still gave 100%  across 9 different track and field events. Year 1 really enjoyed their trip to the Billingham Forum Theatre to watch The Tiger Who Came to Tea. We had lots of fun singing along, joining in with the characters and watching the Tiger be silly on stage. A big thank you to the grown ups who came along and helped.

Year 6 really enjoyed ending their Friday afternoon with a glow party with Sophie from the sports partnership.  

We have had two very busy days this week, the girls and the mixed cricket teams have been playing at competitions held at Blackhall and Castle Eden cricket clubs. The girls team came 3rd out of 12 teams and were awarded a bronze medal. The mixed team came 5th out of 15 teams and just missed out on the semi-finals. …

Year 6 enjoyed their second lesson of our raising aspirations programme all about skills. They enjoyed using their skills to complete a series of challenges – tongue twisters, guess the voice and playdough models. Then they applied their own skills to designing a game for their friends to play. Next week … CV writing!

It has been another excellent week to celebrate the success and acheivemnets of our children. Well done to everyone who received a certificate or earned house group points this week.

Year 5 enjoyed their heritage walk before half term, learning about some of the buildings we can still find from the past and how and why the Londonderry family developed the harbour and coal mines. We had a great time at Football Club tonight. We played some games to warm us up and practised some basic football skills such as dribbling and passing. We finished off with a game where everyone got stuck in and applied the skills we had been practising.
