Well done to our first Stars Of The Week for 2025. Everyone has come back from their Christmas holidays refreshed and  worked hard this week. Lots of certificates and house group points were awarded.

Today Year 2 have taken part in a RSPB bird watch following this week’s picture news. We ticked off what we saw. We saw lots of pigeons, blackbirds and seagulls.

This week’s picture news was all about the RSPB birdwatch. Reception class took part in the big bird watch with their buddies. The children went outside to record the different species of birds spotted in our school environment.

We have really enjoyed the end of year Christmas celebrations. We have taken part in lots of different activities and are ready for a nice rest before Christmas.

We have collected some lost property from school. Please collect it from the main entrance.

Well done to our final Stars Of The Week for 2024. A special mention to our Y6 dancers who received a certificate for learning and performing some beautiful liturgical mimes in our Carol Service. Bede House Group were our overall winners for the term. Well done to everyone who has earned house group points this year.

Year 3 have enjoyed lots of Christmas activities this week. We have had a fantastic Christmas party and Santa Dash. We also had a go at a Christmas quiz and wrote some letters to stop The Grinch from stealing Christmas. A wonderful time was had by all.

Year 6 have enjoyed lots of festive activities in school this week. They took part in a Santa Dash, had a fantastic Christmas party and enjoyed a wonderful Christmas dinner.

We have had a great time at our Christmas party today. Lots of dancing and playing party games.

Our  JRSO’s had set a competition for everyone this half term. Reception to Y3 had a colouring competition about active travel and Years 4-6 designed safe active travel signs which we could place around our school grounds. Year 1 had a fantastic time taking part in the Santa Dash in our Christmas jumpers. Thank you to the Sports Partnership for organising a fantastic event.

Year 5 have been full of Christmas spirit this week as they had both their party and festive run. The children danced to their favourite Christmas songs and partied until their feet hurt – even winning some prizes along the way! On Tuesday, Easington Sports Partnership hosted our festive run. A big thank you to all our families for supporting our Christmas Fayre on Friday afternoon. Raffle winners have been drawn and prizes can be collected from the school office.

An incredible half term with craft club. The children have worked super hard and created some wonderful arty crafts for themselves and our school fayre. Well done everyone!

What a fabulous last few weeks we’ve had in gymnastics club. The children have balanced, rolled, stretched and challenged themselves to be brave on the benches. For our final week, we completed Christmas gymnastics and festive fun games. Well done Reception.

Today, 18 children from year 5 and 6 attended ESSP Sportshall Athletics competition at East Durham College. The children performed both track and field events and many came first in their heat. This week, gymnastics club worked on their balance and coordination when moving around the hall. They kept their movements controlled which is key when performing gymnastics skills.
