Year 6 had a wonderful time working with local author, Adam Bushnell last week. We were working on a plan to write a descriptive piece about a zombie apocalypse. We designed our zombies and discussed some amazing vocabulary ideas to describe them. We even got dressed up to help us think about mutations and monstrous creatures.

What a lovely start to the day we have all had with a fabulous story telling assembly by the author Adam Bushnell. Adam will be spending the next two days with us, competing a session with each of our classes in school. We are very excited to read all of the children’s story writing.

We are up, filled with breakfast and have packed our bags ready for our final day. We started by giving our thanks to God for another beautiful morning through moving our bodies, singing and dancing. It has now been confirmed that St. Cuthbert’s B-Team will play St. Mary’s B-Team in the Turns Family Cup Final on Thursday 3rd April after school at Westlea Primary. The team will be those children who played in the semi-final on Tuesday.

This afternoon, we had a sensory walk through the woods. We took notice of the wonderful sights and smells around us that God created.

Good morning, rise and shine! We are all up, dressed and full of breakfast ready for our day ahead. Another beautiful morning and we have some exciting outdoor activities planned.

A wonderful evening to start our retreat. Our tummies are full and we’ve enjoyed a snack from the tuck shop. Before half term, we had the wonderful Lucy Turner lead an upbeat exercise session for the whole school. Y6 have been working on algebra in maths. We used some cubes to help us show different formulae and were able to solve equations and make our own formulae to challenge each other.

A fabulous first session for some of our reception children who stayed back tonight after school with coach John. Over the coming weeks, the children will work on a variety of skills; this week was basketball skills. This week in art club, the children put their patience to the test as they followed step by step tutorials to create different pencil drawings. They each chose their own theme and researched different artist videos to watch and follow. Having patience definitely paid off as they all created wonderful sketches.
