Tuesday 9th June

Hello everyone.
Well done to everyone who participated in the sports challenge yesterday! I have added the link again below so you can check out today’s challenge. https://www.stcuthbertsprimary.com/sports-week-2020/

Today in maths we will continue with money. If you sit on orange or yellow table for maths, can you get some real coins and practise making 10p in different ways. If you manage this, then try 20p.
If you sit on red, blue or green table for maths we will be continuing with the White Rose alternative lessons. I have added the link on google classroom and we are working on ‘Find the Difference’. Here you will find a link to a video to help you. I have also added the task sheet.

Today in English, we will be using today’s BBC Bitesize English lesson – Using contractions. Can you remember that we had lots of contractions on our washing line in the classroom made onto kites. Watch the video and have a go at the interactive activities one and two. I have then added some activities for you to try on google classroom.

Our RE topic in school should have been The Sacrament of Reconciliation and we will be thinking all about rules. I thought that it would be nice to start this today.
In year 2 children are introduced to the idea of sin and the importance of saying sorry and forgiveness. They are taught about and learn how to make an examination of conscience, say a simple prayer of sorrow and are introduced at a basic level to what happens during the Sacrament of Reconciliation.

Lesson 1:Talk about how rules are necessary in sport, at home, in the classroom, out in the road etc. Tell the Rules of Sport story (see below) and ask the key questions. What rules are we having to follow at the moment and why are they so important?
The task is explained in the link on google classroom.

Have a good day!
Mrs Wilkinson
