Every week I will be sending you a “flashback” exercise to review what we have covered in class.
We are continuing with our counting in 2’s today so give this a try:
I’ve had some e-mails from some of you saying that you are having difficulty accessing some of the apps on the school website, so I have included a link to a video which demonstrates the “Picnic on Pluto” game on the Phonics Play website. This game is free to use and doesn’t require any subscription or passwords. The children have to decide whether the word that they read is a real word and feed it to Bob (the blue alien) or if it is a nonsense word and feed it to Obb (the orange alien). not only dies this game enhance the children’s phonics knowledge but also expands their vocabulary by introducing words they may not have heard of or understand. Have the children revise all phase 3 sounds and if they incorrectly feed a real word to Obb explain the meaning of that word to your child and come up with a sentence together including that word.
