Thursday 26th March

Good morning to you all,

So how did you get on with yesterday’s tasks? Okay I presume, as I didn’t receive any cries for help!

Today’s work suggestions:

KEEPING ACTIVE

Are you tuning into Joe Wicks’ daily PE lesson on YouTube at 9.00am? Remember you can also use BBC SuperMovers at home https://www.bbc.co.uk/teach/supermovers/ks2-collection/zr4ky9q

Try inverted commas with Mr Smith or Noun Phrases

They will help you with your story writing tomorrow.

MATHS

Do an Arithmetic test that has been glued into you maths homework book.

Remember the rhyme for this type of question

___ – 32 = 100

Missing number at the beginning, do the inverse and we’re winning!

So        100 + 32 = 132            The missing number is 132

Also the rhyme for this

25 + _____ = 75

Missing number in the middle, do a subtraction after a fiddle!

So   75 – 25 = 50             The missing number is 50

Do extra missing number work on Google Classroom please. We’re checking that you can all access this.

Practise your times tables using Times Table Me, Rockstars or Squeebles.

READING

Yesterday you read one of Aesop’s fables – Androcles and the Lion. Today listen to some of the other stories on the bbc radio page. Use the link:

https://www.bbc.co.uk/teach/school-radio/english-ks1–ks2-aesops-fables-index/z73s6v4

There are stories you’ll recognise like: The Hare and the Tortoise or The Wind and the Sun, as well as ones you don’t. Listen to a selection of them as they are only a few minutes long. Then choose one and draw a series of pictures to tell the story, a kind of story board which you’ve done many times before.

WRITING

Please keep writing regularly in your Journal. Write in it today.

Let me know how you get on with today’s tasks. I’d love to hear what else you’ve been up to?

Take care

Mrs Fitzpatrick
