Good morning Year 3.

Maths

Log on to White Rose home learning Year 3. Today your lesson is Problem-solving with addition and subtraction fractions. Watch the video then complete the attached worksheet.

If you are working from Year 2, your lesson today is Patterns 2D and 3D shapes. Watch the video then complete the attached worksheet.

If you find any of these tricky you can always try Year 1. Just do what you feel you can manage.

Spend a few minutes on Times Table Rockstars.

English

Today’s lesson is Alliteration.

Watch the clips first. The first clip gives you some lovely examples of alliteration. The second clip is Joseph Coelho talking about sound in poetry. There are three activities. Choose the ones you would like to complete. I would love you to send me your tongue twisters.

If you find the Year 3 Bitesize tricky, have a look at Year 1 or 2.

Art

Today you will be creating patterns using symmetry and reflection. You will need to print the sheets off if you can. If you can’t perhaps you can choose an animal print to draw and create you own symmetry and reflection pattern.

Rotation – a circular movement

Symmetry – something is symmetrical when it is the same on both sides.

Go through the slides, looking at how different patterns are made.

On your worksheet, experiment with making different patterns. Cut the circles into quarters and try placing them in different ways on the grid. How will you use the two different patterns? When you have decided which pattern is best, stick it down onto the grid.

As always, make sure you do some active time.
