As part of our ‘Wellness Wednesday’ afternoon and linked closely to our History, year 6 made their very own Anderson Shelters in very creative ways. We had everything from lego and books to cardboard, cakes and quilts!

A virtual visit to Beamish

Year 6 enjoyed a virtual visit to Beamish from home and at school to explore the life of an evacuee. We looked at propaganda used to encourage parents to keep their children safe and warnings from the Home Guard about the importance of blackouts and shelters. Year 6 asked a lot of really useful questions to further their learning.
