In Year 1, we have been learning all about the human body. We have been exploring our five different senses. We had a carousel of activities, each one using a different sense. We were really looking forward to our first violin lesson. Mrs Sellers told us about the different parts of a violin and played us some songs. We then played some singing games. Next week we will use the violin which we are looking forward to.   

We had lots of fun today. Coach John came in to work with us. He taught us lots of  basic football skills.                                

Our A Team played in their first tournament of the season last night. They played four matches and showed excellent skill and teamwork throughout. Some great goals were scored and some dangerous attacks were defended brilliantly.  After winning two games, drawing one and losing another, they had done enough to secure the runners up spot of the Daniel O’Hare Tournament. …

A huge well done to all of our children who have achieved certificates for wonderful things this week.

Mrs Sellers will be visiting Year 1 every afternoon until Christmas. We had lots of fun learning new songs, keeping the beat and listening to Mrs Sellers play ukulele.

PE days beginning from Monday 11th September.

Today in Year 2 we started thinking about drawing. We practised drawing with our hands in sketchbooks, with our arms and moving our whole bodies! We looked at art by Molly Hausland who draws huge circles outdoors. We loved drawing spirals on our yard!

At Dance Club the Years 1 and 2 have been working very hard the past few weeks learning a dance routine to the song Best Day Of My Life.   We had lots of fun on our Pirate Party Day. We came to school in our Pirate clothes and we were set lots of challenges including walking the plank!  

Reception class shared a wonderful liturgical prayer with us on Friday all about friendship.

We enjoyed celebrating the feast of St.Peter and St.Paul. Our children took part in a liturgical prayer, took part in the assembly hosted by Mark 10 Mission and enjoyed a day of fun, painting stones to go into the prayer garden and learning more about these two amazing saints, all while raising money for the Mark 10 Mission. Year 6 have completed their Faith In Action Award and celebrated by preparing a final liturgical prayer for Mrs Balls, the chaplin from St.Bede’s who has helped them to complete their award this year, Mrs Noble and Father Marc. The theme of this year’s Youth Festival was “bold and brave” and was perfect as the messages really related to the children as they are going to be bold and brave as they move onto secondary school. Our A Team finished second out of ten teams in the Seaham and District football league. They played a presentation match against St. Mary Magdalen Primary School at St.Cuthbert’s last week.
