Monday 6th July

Monday 6th July

Good morning. I hope you have all had a lovely weekend. Let me know what you have been up to. It would be lovely to hear from everyone.

This week we will be using White Rose home learning for maths and BBC Bitesize for English lessons. BBC Bitesize are also doing an arts week so I think that might be fun to do too.

Maths

Today you be learning to measure mass in grams and kilograms. As always I have also added Year 2 work if you need it. If you are doing Year 2 work, you will be learning to find quarter of amounts.

Watch the videos on white rose home learning then complete the attached worksheets.

Don’t forget Time Table Rockstars. Let me know how you are getting on.

English

The lesson today is revising subordinating conjunctions. A conjunction is a word that is used to connect two clauses together. Words such as: ‘although’, ‘because’ or ‘when’.

A subordinating clause is a part of a sentence that adds additional information to the main clause. A subordinating conjunction is simply the word/words that is used to join a subordinating clause to another clause or sentence.

“He was annoyed, the train had stopped.”

“ He was annoyed because the train had stopped.”

By adding ‘because’ we are linking the subordinating clause “the train had stopped” with the main clause “He was annoyed”.

Watch the clips then try the activities.

If you find this tricky have a look at year 2. If you want to do work from here, your lesson will be Action words.

Todays lesson for Art week is Musical performance.

Don’t forget to have plenty of active time.

You can also spend a bit of time on Spelling Shed and Reading Plus.
