Year 1 had a wonderful time last week doing their colour run. Thank you to the Sports Partnership for putting on a great event for all.

We have had a lovely afternoon taking part in sports day activities. The sun was shining and we had lots of smily faces.

Year 1 had lots of fun yesterday at hoop stars. We tried out lots of new tricks and we will definitely be trying these out during break times.

Our Year 1 and 2 Dance Club have been working hard this term to learn a routine to Barbie Dreams. They have had so much fun learning different dance moves and the boys enjoying adding some rock and roll into the routine. Reception class and Year 1 took part in ‘The Big Sing’ from Durham Music Service this morning. Year 1 had lots of fun on Friday morning with Kev and Heather. We listened to the Secret Garden story and had to complete lots of tasks to gain flowers. We made our very own team name and built our own team gardens. We all had a lovely morning working as a team.

Maths Rockstar Day We will be holding a Maths Rockstars Day on Thursday 2nd May and inviting all our pupils and staff to dress as rockstars for the day while we have some maths fun.  Please see the letter below for details and the video explaining our TTRockstars programme for pupils from Y2 to Y6. We had such a fabulous day at the Locomotion museum. We learnt all about George Stephenson’s life and his inventions. We saw his Locomotion and acted out the first steam train journey from Shildon to Stockton. We also looked inside a train engine.

PE Timetable from April until May half term   

We had a lovely day on Wednesday celebrating St Cuthbert’s Day. We went to church and found out some interesting facts about St Cuthbert. On the afternoon, we enjoyed eating ice cream with our friends.

We had lots of fun in Year 1 on Friday. We came to school dressed in bright colours to raise money for comic relief. We spent time talking about our Catholic Social Teaching animals and focused on Shristi the Sun Bear. Shristi teaches us all about solidarity. In Year 1, we have been reading Super Worm by Julia Donaldson. This week, we will be writing our own non-chronological report all about worms.
