In our first art club session we have made our own firework pictures.

Our local community garden donated some pumpkins Bouncy Castle to us and we had great fun designing and making a lanterns with them. We tried to pull a face just like the lanterns we had created.

        As part of letter ‘r’ day the children in Reception class have been following a recipe to make leaf soup. The worked in pairs and went onto the field to find their ingredients. Some of them were experimenting to make the perfect porridge recipe for the bear. They had lots of fun.

We enjoyed spending some time with our buddies on mental health awareness day. Seeing our buddies makes us happy. We took part in an outdoor scavenger hunt.

This week we have been so busy. We have been looking at different sounds each day. On the letter k day we made kites and then tested them outside. Reception Class were very excited this week. It was letter, “i” day and we were looking for insects. We decided to go over to the allotment for the first time to see what we could find. This week Reception Class have been learning their letter sounds. The first sound we looked at was the, “M” sound. We used our scissor skills to make a mouse and then we were set a challenge to find out materials that our magnets would be attracted to.    

Reception Class were so excited to meet their buddies today. Our Year 6 buddies will help our Reception Class to settle into their new school.

Today Reception Class were showing us what good athletes they were. They took part in an egg and spoon race, sack race, throwing the bean bag and jumping as far as they could. Reception Class looked a little bit different when they came into school today. They were dressed as pirates! They had to practise their skills to become pirates .

This week it was time to dig up the potatoes that we had planted in February. We then took our potatoes to Jan in the kitchen who is going to cook them for our dinner on Monday. We are really looking forward to Monday lunch time.

Reception Class have enjoyed supporting England this week. They made flags and came into school dressed in red, white and blue. Let us hope they bring good luck to England for Sunday !

Reception Class enjoyed learning how they could stay safe near water. The day started with a zoom assembly from the RNLI and then they took part in lots of different water activities.
