Reception Blog

Our new Reception children are settling in so well and have had a fun and busy start. They have enjoyed their first school lunch, forest school activities, meeting their Year 6 buddies and enjoying the areas in the indoor and outdoor classroom. Well done Reception class. We are so proud of you!

This afternoon, Y6 and Reception class spent their Buddy Time exploring some activities on Purple Mash. The Y6 children were able to show their buddies how to create some wonderful digital art work and play some games. Everyone had a fantastic time.

This week’s picture news was all about the RSPB birdwatch. Reception class took part in the big bird watch with their buddies. The children went outside to record the different species of birds spotted in our school environment.

Today we learnt about why we have Remembrance Day. We talked about the poppy fields and why we wear a poppy. We also watched a little video clip from CBeebies which showed what it was like in the war. We completed lots of creative activities relating to Remembrance Day. PE Timetable from April until May half term

As we are in the season of Lent, Reception class have been busy making and carrying out their Lenten promises. Yesterday we visited church to look and the stations of the cross. We listened to the story of Good Friday and said prayers as we visited each station. Mrs Wilkinson thought we were very good at reflecting and praying.

Spring Term 2024

In Reception class today, we learnt all about the history behind Bonfire night. We enjoyed lots of firework activities to develop our fine motor skill. We also built some CVC words.
