Today, our Year 5 students had an exciting opportunity to work with visitors from AESC, who led an engaging session on how electric car batteries are made, how electricity is used, and the role of renewable energy in powering the future. The children explored these concepts through a series of hands-on activities, including building and testing their own wind turbines to generate electricity and making potato-powered clocks. They also had the chance to try on personal protective equipment (PPE) and discuss its importance in different working environments. It was a fantastic day of interactive learning, sparking curiosity about science, technology, and sustainable energy.
