Year 6 had a great visit to Sunderland National Glass Centre on Wednesday. They have been focusing on sketching glassware as part of their observational drawing unit in art this half term and it was a great opportunity to explore how veristile glass is as a material and the vast ways it can be used to create art.
They visited the galleries and exhibitions.
Explored the Museum to learn about the history of glass in the region and the history of Pyrex.
Watched live glass blowing demonstrations.
Create their own fused glass tile.
Challenged themselves to sketch more intricate pieces of glassware in one of the galleries.
