Year 1 – Sorting Animals into Groups

 

We were given an animal and a headband. We put our animal on our headband and were asked to group ourselves. Once we did this we thought about what sort of things the creatures in our group had in common and we thought about whether any other creatures could have also joined our group. We then got into 5 distinct groups: fish, amphibians, reptiles, birds and mammals and then we talked about what features the animals in our groups had.
