Secondly – well done all of you for your amazing first week of home learning. You have all put in so much effort to get things done. Remember, these are only suggestions and there are lots of things you can learn with your families that are just as important and that I would still love to see. My top tip for next week would be slow down a little. You aren’t always taking your time to check punctuation and spellings like we do in school. Quality matters more than getting everything done! So, I’ve set you a little handwriting challenge – do the joined up one if you are on orange or blue handwriting books and the printed one if you are on red handwriting books. Copy it out neatly please and send me a picture!
A weekly maths workout for today if you want some number work – get your whiteboards or pen and paper ready for working out. Remember – bar models for fractions and columns for addition, subtraction and multiplication. Don’t forget your bus stop method for division too! I’ll add a video of me working out the answers tomorrow afternoon so you can mark your own like we usually do in class. There is an editable version in Google Classroom that you can type straight into if you want to hand it in.
Today is going to be sunny and quite warm whereas the weekend is set to get a bit cooler so I would like you to make the most of the spring sunshine while you can. If you can, show me how you’re getting active outside. I borrowed some stuff from school and Sam used the old slides that we haven’t used for ages to make a little assault course.
I’ve also added a ‘signs of spring’ sheet from the RSPB so if you do have a garden or go for a walk see what you can find. They are having a photography competition for children that I thought you might be interested in. Remember to use your knowledge of warm and cool colours to help you apply filters but make them subtle to enhance the colours of spring. Snapseed is a great app for editing photos. If you do take some photos of spring – remember to share them with us!

If it is chilly over the weekend and you can;t get in the garden as much, why not spend some time being creative? I bet lots of games are being played online at the minute. How about having a go at designing one of your own? I’ve set you a Purple Mash To Do that lets you play a game based on Ancient Egypt then the program called 2DIY 3D that lets you make your own game!
