To encourage our children to eat a healthier diet we decided it would be a good idea to grow our own. Unfortunately our school allotment has been neglected for many years and was like a jungle of weeds rather than an allotment!!
Luckily for us our governor Mr Groark works for Northumbria Water and he arranged for some of his colleagues to come in and clear out our allotment, make the raised beds safe and weed free and clear out the poly tunnel. Unbelievably they managed to clear out the area despite the torrential rain. We are really grateful to them for all their hard work.
After all the generous help from many volunteers we now have our school allotment up and running and below is a quick video to show everyone our progress. We would like to thank everyone who has helped us create such a wonderful place for everyone in school to enjoy.
