Year 6 enjoyed a virtual visit to Beamish from home and at school to explore the life of an evacuee. We looked at propaganda used to encourage parents to keep their children safe and warnings from the Home Guard about the importance of blackouts and shelters. Year 6 asked a lot of really useful questions to further their learning.

Year 6 showed great determination and perseverance when completing their cross-stitch calendars. They designed and completed it themselves (with Miss Huntley and Mrs Prest on hand to detangle thread and re-thread needles!) Well done they look amazing!

As a rights respecting school we often give the children a choice in what they would like to do. On the last day of term year 6 decided they wanted a christmas karaoke. We had lots of fun singing and dancing along to some well known christmas songs.

Year 6 enjoyed completing a selection of Christmas Quizzes towards the end of term. The winners were Jennie and Florence. Those who finished joint last place faced up to the forfeit of tasting the brussel sprout ketchup! Well done boys, very good sports!
