Sharing the Christmas story

Mini Vinnie’s Advent Appeal

As you may have seen recently, many refugees have been uprooted and relocated from Afghanistan to the North East of England. The SVP society at St Cuthbert’s House are collecting donations for these families. Exploring Autumn

We have been outside this week looking at the different colours we can see. We found lots of different coloured leaves. We collected them into different colored groups. Back in class we made some leaf pictures after reading the story , “Leaf Man ” by Louis Ehlert.

Pumpkin carving

Our local community garden donated some pumpkins Bouncy Castle to us and we had great fun designing and making a lanterns with them. We tried to pull a face just like the lanterns we had created.

Our Visit to Church

Making leaf soup

        As part of letter ‘r’ day the children in Reception class have been following a recipe to make leaf soup. The worked in pairs and went onto the field to find their ingredients. Some of them were experimenting to make the perfect porridge recipe for the bear. They had lots of fun.

Outdoor scavenger hunt with our buddies

Our visit to the allotment

Learning our letter sounds

This week Reception Class have been learning their letter sounds. The first sound we looked at was the, “M” sound. We used our scissor skills to make a mouse and then we were set a challenge to find out materials that our magnets would be attracted to.
