As we are in the season of Lent, Reception class have been busy making and carrying out their Lenten promises. Yesterday we visited church to look and the stations of the cross. We listened to the story of Good Friday and said prayers as we visited each station. Mrs Wilkinson thought we were very good at reflecting and praying.

Reception Class – Motion for the Ocean

The children had a visit from Georgina Fuller to learn all about our oceans and how to protect them. Following on from this, they have created a lovely piece of class art work which is to displayed this weekend in the town hall at Seaham’s @motion4the ocean art exhibition. Celebrating the coronation of King Charles

We had lots of fun today in school celebrating the coronation of King Charles. We came to school in red, white or blue clothes. We got a special picnic lunch and made our own crowns. Our buddies helped us to make flags that we can wave in our celebrations at the weekend.

Today we had a different sort of dance lesson as it was photograph day so we had to dance outside. We looked at lots of different fun dances. Sophie brought us lots of props to dance with. We used scarves, ribbons and pom poms and had lots of fun.

Working with a real life author

We had lots of fun on World Book Day we came dressed as a word and then a real life author came into class to work with us. Adam Bushnell came in and helped us to create a story about aliens and a space rocket so we could become authors just like him!
