Maths Rockstar Day We will be holding a Maths Rockstars Day on Thursday 2nd May and inviting all our pupils and staff to dress as rockstars for the day while we have some maths fun.  Please see the letter below for details and the video explaining our TTRockstars programme for pupils from Y2 to Y6.

Wow! What a day for Lyra (y4) and Ava (y6). After qualifying back in October for County Finals, the girls both went on Friday to represent the Easington District in cross country. Last week year 6 enjoyed their session learning some First Aid. They learnt about hazards in the home, common issues like bruises and nose bleeds as well as learning how to give CPR and what to do in the event of choking using Flat Stan. They were all very good at using DR ABC when assessing Flat Stan.

Year 5 and 6 had a visit from the local neighbourhood policing team yesterday. They discussed issues around “stranger danger,” who to trust and what to do if they find themselves in that situation. They were also taught more about staying safe online following our E-safety day before half term. We look forward to working alongside them in the future.

Spring Term 2024

After learning about Sir Isaac Newton’s theory on colour and how we see colours, year 6 enjoyed exploring this further with some child-led investigations using coloured filters. They were amazed to see how the colour filters could be used to block out colours to reveal secret messages.

Year 6 have enjoyed their science topic about light this half term, exploring how we see and the phenomenons created by light. Year 6 enjoyed a christmas themed spanish lesson this week. They learnt some new vocabulary, read a story about a little tree who was helped by Santa before creating their own christmas cards for their families and writing inside in spanish whilst singing along to “feliz navidad.”  

Year 6 had a wonderful time doing the Santa Dash. They dodged in and out of candy canes, decorated trees and even had a snowball fight. A great time was had by all.
