Our A Team played in their first tournament of the season last night. They played four matches and showed excellent skill and teamwork throughout. Last week, some of our Y6 children took part in an athletics competition. Although it was very hot, the children still gave 100%  across 9 different track and field events. We have had two very busy days this week, the girls and the mixed cricket teams have been playing at competitions held at Blackhall and Castle Eden cricket clubs. The girls team came 3rd out of 12 teams and were awarded a bronze medal. The mixed team came 5th out of 15 teams and just missed out on the semi-finals. …

Year 6 had fun this week exploring Charles Darwin’s Finch Theory. They used different instruments which represented the Finches beaks and different size items which represented the types of food available on the Galapagos Islands. We are very proud of our Year 5 and Year 6 children who represented our school at the tag rugby competition on Wednesday. The A team came 4th and the B team came 7th overall which is an amazing achievement.

Our A Team have made a fantastic start to the season by being runners up in the 7-A-Side tournament. They played against two other teams and won the group stage. Unfortunately, they were beaten in the final but they played brilliantly throughout. Well done boys!

Cricket Champions! A big well done to our A and B teams in cricket today. They represented school brilliantly at Seaham Park today and A team were overall winners. Thank you so much to the Sports Partnership staff for organising another great event, to Miss Scarr for taking our teams and to the families who came along to support us.

Our B Team finished second in their league this year! We have had an excellent season and really enjoyed the league matches and tournaments. After winning their group stage, our Y5 New Age Kurling team took part in a thrilling final. They played brilliantly and came first winning a gold medal each! Well done boys!

The Y5 and Y6 girls cricket competition took place at Castle Eden Cricket Club yesterday. The girls worked brilliantly as a team and showed excellent sporting values. After winning lots of their matches, the team made it to the final and came second overall. We are very proud of their achievement.

Grown ups were treated to a demonstration from the after school fencing club tonight. Children got to show off all of the skills and tactics they had learnt in the last 5 weeks and even compete with the electrical equipment used in proper competitions.
