Year 5 – Seaham Grange Farm

Did you know we rely on a farmer every five minutes throughout our lives? Do you know which crops are grown just along the road from our school and what they are used to make? Well, Year 5 do! We had a brilliant afternoon at Seaham Grange Farm learning all about crops grown in our local area and what products they make as well as how farmers and other environmental groups are looking after the land to make sure our food is grown in a sustainable way. What an absolutely fascinating afternoon we had! A huge thanks to Keith Davidson at Seaham Grange for arranging the afternoon for us as well as Durham Beekeepers Association, Durham Heritage Coast J&R Speed and Frontier Agriculture for the excellent workshops.
