AFTER SCHOOL CLUBS
We promote and encourage a healthy and active lifestyle at St Cuthbert’s and part of this is offering a wide range of clubs throughout the year to involve as many of our pupils as we can in extra-curricular activities.
This term after school sports clubs are:
Monday – Fencing for Year 6 pupils after half term plus football training for teams with Mrs Prest & Mrs Donnelly
Tuesday – Sports Hall Athletics for Y5 & 6
Wednesday – Netball for Y5&6
Thursday – dance club for Y5 & 6
Friday – Key Steps Gymnastics for Y3 & 4
There will also be opportunities for younger pupils to take part in lunchtime clubs with our Junior Sports Leaders and Mrs Parlett.
Please note that because of festivals and competitions this term, the after school sports provision leans towards KS2. Other non-sporting after school clubs are available for younger pupils this term and they will be given further opportunities to attend after school sports clubs throughout the academic year. We do always try to give as much of a balance across the year as we can.
Last year we had a large uptake in our sports clubs:
Year 1 – 95% of children.
Year 2 – 63% of children.
Year 3 – 90% of children.
Year 4 – 77% of children.
Year 5 – 90% of children.
Year 6 – 84% of children.
Many of our pupils enjoy competing with local sports teams who are always willing to welcome new members. These include:
